You can sword/throw train at anytime but it cannot exceed 2x your level. And with his nod to Maito that means leveling could be done via Log, CC training, and killing NPC's.
@matty What will be the stat growth of each training type? Will it be a constant rate for all?

To do this Matt with the ranking system, you would have to have Extremely unbiased Kages. Otherwise you could potentialy have lvl 50 jounins, and level 10K people begging for jounin and not getting it because the kage, or some of the kages friends doesn't like them.
If you were able to find kages that were unbiased enough to do that, then the kages should keep the ability to keep the boot village members. That, more or less, is a kages punishment tool. If a player is spam killing their own villagers, causing fights and arguments non stop in village say, stealing other villagers senbons, or other ways of causing havoc in a village, "Boot member" is the kages way of protecting against mayham, like me. Another idea though I would highly suggest would to get All state insurance....
As for the training method, I like it, and at the same time I don't like it. This opens up for More training methods, such as the one Maito suggested with killing rogue npcs, but as Waga stated it could make it so that everyone used swords again.

I believe the req for Jounin would require them to be Chuunin first Kyo, though yes... that does open the possibility of level 500 Jounin, I was thinking more along the lines of the high level Chuunin thing.
Also the questionabout the Jounin Medal locked clans is still up in the air. D: I suppose either A) Matt didn't bother to read what I said or more likely B) He figured it didn't garner a response lol. I am still curious as to how this would work. I'm keeping newer players in mind that have yet to unlock the Jounin medal in the current system of things.

He did mention a plausible auto-jounin requirement. I think it should be higher personally. Seems pointless to have this whole system going if it were still that easy to become Jounin.
@zane Provided the above is instated than I don't really see the medals as a problem.

Possibility to get Jounin from Kage around level 2000 Possibility to bypass Kage's req at Level 3500 by undertaking a Hard Mission
I don't think I need to comment upon the Jounin Medals.
@waga - I am reducing the damage output from attack (for swords) to deal with this situation. While Jutsus that rely on Sword Skill will be uneffected (allowing Clans that need it to still be fine) I understand this could mean alot of people might be using Swords, however if the damage from Sword/Tai was closer, or maybe disabled certain Taijutsus while a sword is being held, or maybe if Swords cost more, I think this problem would be countered. Not saying I'm gonna do all of these, but I'm open to suggestions.

As for the EXP gaining... CC Training will give a TINY amount of EXP Log will give medium Killing NPC's will give the most.
As for Stat level up rates, they are kinda the reason that I'm doing this system in the first place arnt I? (Stop people from being 100% dependent upon a training method) maybe each method will give out a random amount of chakra/hp per level? Random being like between 10-25 per level or something

So what about the exp cap then? I feel if killing npcs, hopfully all npcs such as itachi and killer bee, will give more in the overall training method then the cap should also increase because after some point killing them will get easier and easier. Or maybe add more challenging rouge npcs throughout the forest.
Also the kage choosing the jounin is fine imo. It's his/her village and they should be able to decide whether or not they assume you're ready for the role of said jounin spot and if you even met their req for jounin. Just like joining ssm isn't as simple as asking you have to prove you can be in it, blah blah etc.
This new training system is quite confusing, I'd prefer to experience it first hand as opposed to all this typing, I am to tired to read all of your well educated post about this topic.

Ugh I personally don't approve of the whole NPC grinding aspect. I always thought what made NTFB, NTFB was the logs we used to grind on. When you do something like mob leveling you also have to take in people using shit like paper or amaterasu to afk train (Certain clans have advantages if you see my point), which is done A LOT of times in bleach rips via petal users.

i dont like the fact that u dont get exp at all from sword logs and throwing things because it takes a long time then.. makes u waste more time. Yes u said u wanted to make a struggle but some people dont have much time ._. *me* and having to train ur lvl and ur stats is kinda very very time consuming.. Also the npc grinding will make it boring ._. 1 reason i stoped playing ROTP was because of the npc grind.. with logs u can actually watch anime while doing it making it funer .-.

I personally like the training. There just needs to be something from stopping everyone and their mother from whoring swords/throwing :s.

There doesn't have to be anything to stop anyone from doing nothing. The training is just fine just need different ways to train and even give more exp besides sitting in one place all day.

People also use 3rd party programs till they get clipped by the afk check, also, which usually only sets them back three or four levels by the time they're caught due to auto save lol. Wanna get rid of logs and switch to typing to train? Anywho, having options to train would relieve the boredom for some players. Like myself, I prefer to get out there and kill things from time to time. Best way imo, to test out a jutsu or see if you've polished a weapon skill enough.

Arrow Key Training anyone? o.o? Was actually sitting back to see if anyone would think of that. It's about the only way to prevent AFKing really, but it's also just as boring and far more tedious as log training. XD
