I'm back to give my 2 cents again (BTW, Matt you owe me about 40 cents by now >_>), and it's gonna be the best 2 cents of your life (unless you find a 2 cent whore. Can you say FIELD DAY?).
First of all, to help organize this all......Fuck you Kyuubisama! I will NOT organize things nicely
Knockouts/Stamina System: We all know that in real life, the more you get punched and kicked and slammed and whathaveyou, you get tired. Dont believe me? Get your pussy ass in a fight, or take the bitch route and watch some MMA fights. When you are hit, you don't lose some digits in an imaginary Health bar, you get fatigued. Yes it hurts, but you also get tired. To follow up on the KO idea posed by that redneck kid in some other thread, when you are hit with Taijutsu you should lose Stamina. As stamina falls, you have a greater chance of being knocked out. You don't get KO'ed just by hitting 0 Stamina, you get KO'ed by random chance when the enemy hits you. Say you're at 50% of your stamina (50/100, for example), you have a 5% chance of being KO'ed with the next hit. At 100%, you have a 1% chance of behing KO'ed with the next hit. If you go to 0 Stamina, you simply have to rest, you are just too tired to fight; but still CONSCIOUS. You have a 10% chance to be KO'ed at 0 Stamina though. Possibly Ninjutsu could make your Stamina fall (since blocking a frickin fireball would wear you out), and DEFINITELY Genjutsu should (think: Tsukiyomi must wear you the fuck out!). Certain techniques, such as the Genryu Kyuu Fuujin, Fuushi Tensei, Goguofuuin, Shiki Fuujin, and a few more should only work when the target is KO'ed. Prevents Akatsuki abuse, Nub abuse, and it keeps the Taijutsu fans happy.
Kalak, Treak, this is for you: How many times do we all sit and punch a log or launch a Kunai into a Stump? Tons. How often is their any showing of our long training? Never. I believe their needs to be icon work done, showing various stages of a log breaking down from being pumelled. Like, after 200 hits, you see some fist marks/holes, then you see cracks after a few hundred more, then maybe it gets busted up on the sides, and so on until it crumbles. The Kunai Stumps should have Kunai's wedged into them to show you've been using it.
Addition of Strategic element to the game: Okay this is the big one, and it's something more unique than you've ever seen in a BYOND Naruto game.
Okay, we've seen Naruto. We've seen that villages are patrolled by Shinobi , and other villages cannot enter without being assaulted usually.
Imagine if your village could set up Defenses. Put your shops to good use. Use your fields to grow and sell things.
Here's my ideas:
-Allow Kage's, or anyone given the Kage's permission, to purchase NPC's. Purchase a Genin unit, or a Chuunin, even Jounin and ANBU units. You place these units in your village, and they patrol it like faithful Soldiers. Anyone from another village enters, they attack. Demon attacks? They fight it (but cannot kill it, mind you). They beat an enemy? The Village earns some money if they have a Bounty (minus a 25% deduction to pay the one who killed it, though the NPC's cannot use cash at all). They die? Lost forever. Go buy a new Shinobi.
-Village Treasury/Vault that contains money used to buy more Shinobi to patrol, or other things (which I'll get to later). The vault would be located somewhere that is tough to reach (and if you're a smart Kage, it'll be guarded). If someone enters the room with the Vault, who is NOT from your village, everyone in the village is alerted. The vault would require a Password to open, or you could use the option of breaking in. The former is fast and easy, the latter may take a long time. Vault doors should have a few million HP to make breaking them a chore, and the village has time to stop you. If you get in, you can get all the money in the village vault. If not, well you dented the door atleast. The treasury should have the option of being Donated to, so you could donate some of your cash to your Village to help protect it (which means PLAYERS would make this work). Kage's and anyone with the password can take money from the vault to go purchase things, but the amount must be approved by your Kage first (unless the Kage takes it out).
-Genjutsu's could be used to summon thick fogs, fake forests, or create a fake body of water, those sorts of things to make intruders unable to find or enter the village, unless they have a higher Genjutsu than the one who made the Genjutsu. I'd imagine you could have more than one player work together to create a big illusion to stop enemies from getting in, but it would take a massive chunk of Chakra.
-When itnruders come to your Village gates, if they do not have a pass to get in, an alert is sent out to everyone in the Village that someone is invading, so you can swiftly put them down.
-Passes/Envoy's must be obtained from your village Kage, with consent of the Village Kage whose village you are getting the Pass to enter, to enter that village. Basically, get your Green Card or you're an illegal shinobi immigrant.
-The game needs to run on an internal clock for this: Every hour in-game counts as 1 day of time. Every hour, your Village Summary comes in, telling you how much your village made that day from it's Shops, how much was Donated to the Treasury, how much was lost (0 if nobody broke in), how many intruders entered, and lastly how much your village gained for the day cash-wise.
-Shops in villages (Shinobi Shop, Ichiraku Ramen, etc) should have all funds you give them for items, sent to the village Treasury. You should have the ability to set your shop keeper outside the village too, so players could maybe find a hotspot on the map and set up a shop guy there.
-Villages should have atleast a small portion of their unused grass space as Fields. Fields can be picked each week (every 7 hours) when things grow, and the things you pick (grain, wheat, whatever you pick in RTS games lol) can be sold off to the Village, gaining your village some cash. Bigger villages get more Field area, Suna gets...nothing? IDK.
-The game needs to simply be more Roleplay-ish. It's an RPG: ROLEPLAYING game. I'm sick and tired of seeing the Kage's killed by someone, only to not be avenged by the villagers. ANBU run around and do nothing to stop the random players who go on killing sprees. EVERYONE trains in Konoha when really only the KONOHA VILLAGE MEMBERS should. This all just isn't right! What I've said in the above ideas would help bring back the ROLEPLAYING element into this RPG.
-Assassination Missions: Let the Kage or ANBU Leader give these out, they are an order to all ANBU, listing tehe name of a player who is wished Dead. The ANBU players mission is to go and kill the person, and when they die a certain amount of money, based on what the Kage/ANBU Leader set as the payment, is given to them. Payment comes from the Village Teasury.
-Vault Defense: Your Vault Door gets dinged up by a raiding enemy. What do you do? Pay to fix it! Depending on the damage, you can pay to have it's HP restored. If you want a Stronger vault, pay to have it's Max HP raised!
-Village Upgrading: All this money, what to do? Give your village shopkeeps more to sell! Business requires advancement, and if you wanna have a big, bustling village, you need to have the best items on sale. Items you can buy should be split up into more shop NPC's so that you can pay to add a new NPC, along with 4 or 5 new purchaseable items to your village. This will not only give your members more to buy themselves, but also it makes your village more money! If you're the only place that sells Weights, chances are you're gonna do a lot of business!
-After alll this: If my ideas were implemented, we'd need to set up our Kage's like our Admins: Preset, and dont change with PWIPES and such. We'd pick the people best for the duty (since in a way its like Adminning, just that you only do it in YOUR village, while we do it everywhere), and if they're corrupt well you can all lead an uprising or something!
