Guys I'm going to be blunt here. Once we reach the cap and cap SS & TS there isn't much to do aside from make alts, win tournaments, seal demons, fight, and generally some people even become pricks when they're bored. This suggestion is to add in not only some thing that I think would restore our player-base but also give some content to those who cap quickly. There also is a new training method that I've taken the liberty of suggesting that These are cut & dry things that would hopefully pull in a lot more players. (I'll admit, with proper advertising ((NOTE: This isn't limited to the internet, get out there IRL and bring ppl to Byond!!!)) )
First off, the topic I'm tackling is where all of the following topics stem from save 1; The Emote Verb! Yes, you heard me right. My intention is to push for an Emote verb to be added in the game. This allows us to do so much more then simply train, fight, kill, do a tournament, then repeat come the wipe. How the emote verb would look in chat would be somewhat like this (ofc it would be up to Sefi or maybe even a player vote to decide the color of the chat).
Sasume sighs as he changes out of his Anbu gear after a long days work, gets into bed, then drifts off to sleep. Yet another stressful day done with.
This would provide players with means to actually interact with one another outside of actually fighting. Throw in some buildings perhaps dotting the map like Ramen Cafes, BBQ, Hot Springs, Taverns, Motels and BAM! You've got interesting & fun things to do after you've capped. These things combined with friendship & the emote verb can truly enhance ones game-play and also it might make things a little more welcoming for noobs. Imagine you're hosting a party in your home (that's another thing, you could purchase a home once you're Jounin + and say eventually pay it off. This would contribute to the village economy, the better the economy, the less things cost.) You could actually show off some of your cooking or creativity with making games within the game.
Second topic, Rivals. You know that player in your squad (if you're in one, if not, this could be looked at as incentive to get out there and befriend people!) (or outside of your squad) who just frustrates you every time you fight them?? Well here's a way to set it in stone!! Register them as your Rival. There would be a Register Rival verb in commands, you would then type the name of the player who you wish to register. A request would pop up saying (I.E) "Sasume wants to become rivals with you! Do you accept?" then the usual Yes or No option would pop up.
Selecting Yes would send this response back to the sender "Mello accepts your request..your blood boils as you think of surpassing them!"
Selecting No would send this response back "Mello declined your rivalry request...get better!!!"
Having a rival would mean the following things;
When you spar your rival the winner gains only SLIGHTLY more exp.
Any money wagered between the two of you is doubled to the winner. (Refer to "Fun Activities" Suggestion under the Gambling sub-topic)
Each person can have a custom Rival Message. This message is displayed to your rival when you two engaging in a rivalry sparring match. A Rivalry Sparring match is different from a normal one. In the Rivalry Tab there will be a Win/Loss Count, each time a match is won/lost the custom message will appear on the screen of the winner/looser. I've included a demonstration below.
Scenario 1: I defeat Mello. (On Mello's screen) Sasume: "It looks like I win this one...it seems my reaction time was quicker."
Scenario 1: I defeat Mello. (On My screen) Mello: "You've gotten faster with your jutsu...I wasn't expecting that."
Scenario 2: Mello beats me (On Mello's screen) Sasume: "Blast it all! I could've sworn I had you...."
Scenario 3: Mello beats me (On my screen) Mello: "It seems you aren't up to par yet, keep trying."
Having a Rivalry in a squad would notify the Squad Leader of the rivalry between you two.
Final topic, Missions. In all honesty we need more variety in our missions. The combined effort of Myself and Kazuki have created the following idea.
~Missions~
Missions should be more incorprated in gameplay.
Example 1
Chunnin Reqs: 1)Be a Genin, 2)Level 500+, 3)Have Completed 10 or more missions
Jounin Reqs: 1)Be a Chuunin, 2)Level 2,000+, 3)Have Completed 35 or more missions, 4)Complete B-Rank:Kill Zabuza Mission
ANBU Reqs: 1)Jounin, 2)What ever level requirement your Kage decides, 3)Have Completed 60 or more missions.
Mission requirements would not affect village-only Orgs like SSM or Root.
- Now your probably thinking that 35-60 missions is a lot and you would never complete that much for an entire wipe. But you can because some missions will count as if you completed two or more depending on its rank. The higher the rank of the mission, the more Village Credit you will receive.
- Incorporating missions into Requirements for Ranks in my opinion would create a barrier of difficulty which at the end makes the game funner and not as easy. It would make it more challenging to obtain Ranks in a fun and competitive way. As we've seen in the early episodes of Naruto, Team 7 along with the other Genin Teams were normally assigned D-rank or C-rank missions before taking on even harder missions or being promoted to higher ranks. The same should be done in NTFB, "by honorably doing a service for your Village as a Shinobi" by completing Missions.
- Now this is how the new mission system would work.
Example 2
1. Player A does a C-Rank Mission, Player A completes C-Rank and reports it to Village Jounin NPC. In player A's chat it would say "Village Credit: +2"
2. Player B does a B-Rank Mission, Player B completes B Rank and reports it to Village Jounin NPC. "Village Credit: +4"
New missions need be added aswell b/c you cant do A or S Rank missions until your like 5k+ and at that point nobody does a mission unless they have an Akat body. That only leaves D,C, and B rank missions. (Not including the Recover Cat mission.) Spamming the Tazuna mission is a real pain if your not from Mist and no one really does the Kill Zabuza mission after they get Jounin.
New Missions
D-Rank
D Rank - There have been complaints from the Villagers about the local wolves disturbing their travels in and out the village. These wolves have been eating and destroying goods and in some cases even killing people. Go out and Kill 10 Wolves! Ryo: 1,500 - Village Credit: +1
D Rank - Fill up this bottle with Water from nearby waters so we can test its pollution levels.(Run around in water until you get the "Mission Completed" message. Ryo: 1,500 - Village Credit: +1
D Rank - Recover Cat and talk to Kai. Ryo: 5,000 - Village Credit: +1
D Rank - Collect Weeds. Ryo: Depends how much weed you collect - Village Credit: +1
C-Rank
C Rank - We have located the Infamous Demon Brothers. Venture to the Great Naruto Bridge located in the Village Hidden in the Mist and Kill both Meizu & Gozu. Ryo: 2,000 - Village Credit: +2
C Rank - Talk to Tazuna. Ryo: 2,500 - Village Credit: +2
C Rank - Recover the Forbidden Scroll. Ryo: 500 - Village Credit: +1
B-Rank
B Rank - Kill Zabuza. Ryo: 3,750 - Village Credit: +3
B Rank - Turn in Bounty Head. Ryo: 1,500 - Village Credit: +2
B Rank - Kill Haku. Ryo: 3,000 - Village Credit: +2
B Rank - Using your skills as a Shinobi find and Kill (Random player). Report back to me when you have completed this! Ryo: 5,500 - Village Credit: +4
*If said Player were to log off: *Mission Terminated: Player Logged off*
A-Rank
A Rank - Venture into enemy territory and kill two Jounin+ ranked shinobi. Report back to me when you have completed this! Ryo: 7,500 - Village Credit: +5
Joining a new village would reset your Village Credit back to 0 and prices for everything would increase as well ; clothing, weapons etc.
Hopefully these suggestions can make a more lively conclusion to our training lives and maybe even provide us with breaks upon the way. For now that's it.
