well all you hip-hip fiends should know what the title means. i have heard quite a few and honestly believe chance the rapper had the best one due to everyone else sucking massive pipe. thoughts? i know a great deal of you listen to hiphop, and this years talent pool is very surprising.

I don't invest my time in xxl freshmen anymore because they don't do a good enough job finding who to put in the magazine. It's more or less the hottest mainstream artist to be found. Not to denounce chance and whoever else would best be the opposite of my description with similarities to how chance is kinda the opposite, but regardless they never extend their searches and reaches pass those who've already kinda been heard. and I get that, it's hard to bring someone you haven't heard to the foregrounds but usually there are just a handful of artist who are good out of the other 12(?) or so.
I only listened to like the 4-5 videos you posted here, of which all were kinda of bad... including chance. Not impressed, kuni could do better D:

The thing is, when I first started using internet and discovered Youtube, I thought it would be a place where people should broadcast their art and get recognized for it, but as I grow I found out that youtube was exactly the same as MTV awards where the people who earns it are Drizzy, 2chainz, Kendrick Lamar, no offense to them.
You can accept youtube doing that, but a magazine that's supposed to help rappers who are just starting to get recognized atleast in their country can't support the same mainstream music youtube does, because if they do that XXL has no point at all besides giving an XL to Nothing Was The Same, whose autor is already known by everybody, and a XXL to Yeezus(which is probably Kanye's best album tho).
I personally liked Chance the Rapper freestyle, but I think some people are missing there, like Joey Badass maybe?

True the artist who are selected are already successful most of the time and have no business being on the roster: but at least half are artist who need that extra push to get some sort of light or attention. as hip-hop continues to fall in the toilet and the world get consumed in this social ethos of money over everything, they are going to publish whom ever they feel will bring a profit.
i mean who did you expect? King Los? ?ICE-BERG?. on a side note ModernWarNegro bars are lacking, he lost it since that versace remix.
